There are 4 gamemodes standard mania taiko and ctb standard is the most popular one utilizing keyboard mouse or tablet you click the circles to the beat or once the approach circle gets to the circle and stuff mania is basically the ancestor of piano tiles (to keep it simple) taiko is basically mania but with 2 keys and flipped horizontally and catch the beat is catching falling vegetables and fruits.

TL;DR it's a rhythm game
