A Houston teen is dead after reportedly shooting himself in the throat while taking selfies with a gun.

Deleon Alonso Smith, a 19-year-old father of two, was fooling around with the loaded weapon when it went off Tuesday afternoon, KPRC reported.

Smith's cousin, who was in another room of the apartment when the shooting happened, told police that they found the gun earlier that day.

How exactly would strict gun law keep criminals from getting a gun? We strict drugs heck even banned some of them but criminals still have them. Some are even more expensive than a gun. They even go through the trouble of creating a black market of illegal drugs. Any gun law will make civilians harder to obtain one while criminals would have no problem. Also if you haven't noticed, your constitution is different from ours. So yes you have different gun rights.

And honestly how is this guy shooting himself prove anything about our gun laws? I doubt he is a criminal so him having a gun is ok. He died because of his stupidity not because of a gun. He could have used a knife instead and still killed himself due to how dumb he acts. I doubt you would tell us Australia also has strict kitchen knife laws too.

Degenerates are what they are, and they disproportionately commit violent crimes here in this country. 13-14% of the country is black, with half of those being women; that leaves like 7% of the population (black males, and this includes old men and babies, it hasn't even cut down the demographic by age) commiting vastly disproportionate numbers of violent crimes- some 39-50ish % per capita depending on the crime. I think it's sick that 13% of the population commits nearly half of all homicides per capita in the United States. There's something wrong there, and banning guns isn't going to fix it.

It won't prevent criminals from getting a gun, but it would make it a damn lot harder for them to.
It's not fucking rocket science, if you can just walk into any store and buy almost any weapon no questions asked criminals are going to get fucking weapons, but if you have any sort of restriction like an application and do a back ground check, if it shows up that they have a history of crime they won't be able to get it as simply as walking into a store, they'll have to go to some shady mother fucker to get it and even then, how would they get the guns?

Anyway nothing I said earlier had anything to do with criminals or banning guns..
