It could be easily controllable. Only x groups are allowed to change name x amount of times per months and so forth. Could even have a username history list on a user’s profile.

No. It is hard enough to keep track of who is who on Discord without everyone changing their names on here all the time.
At least on Discord your name remains the same and you just change your nickname.

Actually, it would contain a history of usernames that user has had on their profile, along with a limit of how many times they can change it. I don't really see this being an issue.

Well you can change your name, you just have to ask for mods or admins to change it

When I created my account, I put cybermaker23 then I asked to change it to Xave. Earlier I asked Apollian to change it Bulba

The way we change usernames is manually so we know who's who, as Trinity has said. This is just how we prefer to do it. If anyone wants their name changed please dm an Admin about it, be wary that you can only change it a limited number of times.
