I highly doubt groups would actually be bought (depends on the price i guess), and even if, most groups would further divide and exclude many members (especially new members) from active interaction.

Members have been in trouble in the past for creating sub groups within SmG and having their own "power"

Us doing a 180, as long as they pay for it.... doesnt sit too well with me

As said above, it will divide the community somewhat, but overall the idea has some merit, just dont think it is worth pursuing
