I think more than just events, an event schedule that is regularly followed could attract more activity. We do events time to time but some times those cannot be attended by somebody. You could do like your fairy tail watch-along's but on a regular basis. If you couldn't attend one week maybe you can make it to the next one? Have some award attached to it as well. Some like Attendance freak when you make it to like 5 or more?
