Last time I played the game consistently was 2016, with that being said do you know of any videos or summaries that could jog my game knowledge back to where it was? especially anything new since 2016, I know some but I haven't been plugged in.

Oh right, i apologize i didn't see that, i had the same case with overwatch, i played it in season 6, and then quit, now im back and i don't like the current Meta, its like 3 supports 3 frontlines..
Also about the creators, only one i really watch is xqc but hes not playing overwatch as often sadly :/
