My area has blackouts every other time there’s a bad storm. A few thousand are without power for 48 hours at most when that happens.

48 hours? oh man. is there any compensation though?

I've only ever experienced 8 blackouts, so far, in my life time. One went on for almost 9 hours. I know, that's not that long compared to most, but that's my story.

In the UK, only rough storms of rain can make an outage here. Not as big as this one though.
