No clickbait, a 9 year old actually tried to hit
ME (out of all people
) today. So many of you know I'm a teacher (I'm actually registered to the school as a contractor, not an employee). I walk into my class, setup for my lesson, and the kids start to walk in. At this point all of the kids are unsettled and noisy as they hang up their coats and bags. I eventually do a count-down and offer them some magic beans (class points) if they sit down in-time. It worked.
There's this one kid that likes to run away from teachers, hit other kids and is generally rude af. I decided that I would give him a taste of his own medicine. We'll give this kid a name... Bitchboi. So Bitchboi randomly started calling me cartoon names. He called me Donkey from Shrek, which got a few giggles from the class. I called him Princess Fiona, the class start laughing hard. He continues, I ended up calling him Snow White, The Beast, One of the seven dwarfs, and I pretended that he was a poorly designed drawing on the wall and took a selfie with it labelling it "BitchBoi". Well fuck, at the end of all of that the class determined I won the battle and couldn't stop laughing.
Fast forward to the upset ogre... He tried to swing for me, missed and ended up hitting another kid. I know I shouldn't laugh but he was pretty upset and missed
At that moment, a bunch of teachers (not including myself because I cba) swarmed on him like they had just captured Joseph Kony.
He actually tried to take a swing again in private, but this time I grabbed him and reminded him "I'm not employed by the fucking school, you see what this badge says? Contractor. You can't get away with hitting him and thinking I won't put you down. Try that shit again". He eventually walked away cussing.
Fast-forward again to the end of the day, his mum asked if he could join my after-school club. Dude behaved perfectly fine.
Moral of the story, sometimes you have to step-up to the bully.
