Anyone else ever notice that a lot of the big past and present communist countries have "Democracy/Democratic" or "Republic" in their official name even though they are the opposite of a Democracy/Republic.

"The Peoples Republic of China"
"United Soviet Socialist Republic"
"Democratic Republic of North Korea"

I always thought it was kinda funny and ironic.
