Anyone good at making games?

i went to my local institute of technology yesterday to learn to make games... we used this software http://byob.berkeley.edu/ it is a scratch based program that allows you to make basic games... you do need some knowledge on game physics to make anything... i can send people a game that i spent about 20 minutes making... it can only be played through BYOB at the moment...

well anyway... if you think you can make games then try out the software

Yeah, we did this in computer science. Very good software for basic games. I got an -A on my game. Will see if I could find it. But it is in my driver at school

I have used a different program called Game Maker. It is pretty simple but you have to do everything yourself. I have made a few simple games, a top down driving game and I have started a top down shooter.

Re: Anyone good at making games?

The class that I am a teachers assistant in was making games, and i was pretty bored. So they had been working on it for the past quarter and they all sucked hard core, I went bitch please and sat down at my workstation and downloaded dat shit. So i spent about a day and i made a fun little 70s style 2d fps, like at the old acrade games like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15iLTBOetp4 had 5 full levels and 2 easter egg meme's (if you shot the sun on the second level all of the bad guys got troll faces, and if you shot every pedestrian and no bad guys on level 5 you would go to a hidden level were you would see tron guy)

Originally my top down shooter was gonna be a side scrolling Crysis rip off.

Re: Anyone good at making games?

I made my own version of pong in VB some years back. I had customizable paddles, and backgrounds, and you could choose between keyboard and mouse controls... And then my hard drive took a dump, and my dad never before that explained to me the importance of backing up files :(

Pirate has seen firsthand how "good" I am at making games. Did you enjoy it Pirate?

Enjoy is such a strong word.

Even though I died a lot, I still kept playing it, not sure why. I played it for 15 minutes.
