The Quest II

Knowing your weapon. I use the sniper for comparison because it can take out a
single target in a crowd. Rockets and nades create too much collateral damage.
Locating a target in a map from numerous locations is a choice. The lift, the lower level by the sword
or maybe we take our chances up top on the high ground where there is big rewards and
big risks. We decide to go big or go home. The strafe the zoom and the kill, killtacular, killamanjaro all
running through the veins as we move closer to the sweet spot. Everything is cool we are almost there then
“stuck by noob”. WTF!! Fire starts rising up your legs through your torso and out your mouth.
You’re behind in the score And that “freaking noob nade” may cost you the game.
Profanities and rage spew from your mouth, the calm is gone the game is almost over and the loss is setting in.
You turn your intelligent long training hours on this map
into a “sadistic rage of profanity and revenge” trying to find that freaking second game ever played noob rape match!!!
Strafe, zoom, boom…strafe, zoom,boom… ”screw the zoom dammit” …strafe and ns, strafe and…melee, melee,melee
” Melee, BITCH!!!” A little satisfaction comes even though you lost……then…..… the freaking noob types..
”GG your really good dude!” Do you respond or do you crawl under your
troller and act like you got disconnected. Such is the virtual gaming world…. Or …. Could it be the real world? All that rage
and rising blood pressure, the once prevalent buzz from foreign lands gone all from
a vegas sticky thrown by a noob who was probably trying to change weapons.

An old Jewish proverb says… “A gentle response defuses anger, but a sharp tongue kindles a temper-fire.
The mighty mouth, what a freaking awesome weapon. Like the sniper, it has the ability to zoom in and
destroy its target. It has the ability to talk the skirt off a girl and to lie its way out of some deep trouble.

I remember when I first started playing Halo 2. Couldn’t jump, kept running into walls and falling off ledges.
Naded myself numerous occasions and by the time I could pick up a different weapon some trained assassin
would melee or headshot me then type several descriptive phrases about me on his way to the next spot.
Untrained with the sniper and the movements of the game I was a walking “Charlie Foxtrot!” (C.F. … you figure out the phrase)
Then I made a decision to take a players offer to train me.. Slash343 is his name… He showed me the basics and I
had to spend the hours and hours of training by myself to learn jumping and shooting. Still not that good, but better.
But, it was a decision that helped create discipline in my game. It showed me the times when to crouch and deflect the blow
and when to be aggressive and deliver the blow.
