ok as i said i am new to ios because android really fucked me over recently,
i have a few questions to ask anyone with a jailbroken device
(beasty if you could please try to post on it)
#1- will a jailbroken device update on it's own (which is really stupid if it did prompt you IMO)
now i know it's a bit extreme but as all stories it starts with a girl >_>
she plays a game but she needs some in app purchases for free for it and the only way (that i know) to do that is through jailbreak and i told her all the cons and the pros and she is willing to do it for a game :) someone tell me what could go wrong?
#2- she is a girl and knows nothing about tech stuff so she could potentially brick her device... so tell me what could go wrong?
all she cares about is her stupid fucking game so if it is safe to jailbreak just for her game then i would do it.

Jailbreaking is an advantage indeed, but it has some flaws..
Not all the apps are free on Cydia sources, they are risky and ur device cud misbehave(personal experience).

#1 no it will not
#2 you cant really brick your device unless you install some retarded sht; if it goes to the reboot loop you could just restore through itunes (if it comes to worse you could just bring it to apple and they will reset it for you)

No, no IPSW will install on an iDevice without you going into settings an manually updating it. This applies to both JB and non-JB devices.
If you plan on Jailbreaking, make sure A) it is an untethered jailbreak, and B) That you jailbreak on iOS 6, not the new one (7).
Also there isn't really any chance of going into an infinite reboot loop unless you are installing springboard tweaks, or tweaks which will change the layout and function of the springboard. (this really doesn't include things like iconclasm or winterboard, but generally tweaks needed to run higher level theming tweaks (Dashboard X and the like).
The reason is because jailbroken tweaks and apps are made by small and independant developers, so they don't check to make sure there aren't conflictions with other popular apps/tweaks which may be installed on your idevice. Most apps are fine because like a computer program they have there own "little space" so to speak, but tweaks alter these apps or your springboard itself, so it's a lot easier to find conflictions between two tweaks than two apps.
The best way to avoid this is by setting cydia to display only apps and tweaks for "users" under settings in the manage tab.
I wouldn't worry to much, bricking only occurs when people who have some idea of what they're doing try to fuck with something without knowing enough about it.
Also, If you want free apps from the app store, your best bet would be AppCake, since Installous is gone and vShare doesn't work for shit and is half written in some asian ass language.
