Inadvertent update

OK, so in my attempts to resolve the issues with my server, I tried to update CraftBukkit. But, they decided that wasn't good enough. SO they updated to 1.4.

I'm putting in a request to end my contract with them at the end of the three months. These guys are far from professional. I will probably do my business elsewhere.

I will be taking recommendations, but just as a heads up, update your clients.

All plugins are still working from my understanding.

UPDATE: Well, considering the end of the contract term is Sunday, I'm just cancelling now. Sorry guys, but this was a deal breaker. They make it extremely difficult to do business with.

I like GameServers system of updating and managing everything live via their console. So, I may go with them, unless anyone (minus Cloud) has anything to say on the matter. My understanding is a lot of servers are done through them and they have really no connection problems.

It's an extra $5-10 a month, but I'm willing to pay that price,

Velocity Servers. Probably as low end as you can possibly get. It was driving me nuts.

I ordered a GS server. I like what they offer. Not to mention their own free domain hosting. Which helps me manage my traffic on my web server better.

The host that Xorcizt had was awesome, it had a nice FTP setup and website for admin control, I can't remember that host but I will try and think of it.

Re: Inadvertent update

I think X ordered a server from GameServers. Either that or another group that had McMyAdmin. I freaking love it.

I'm happy with what I got, and now I can aim to make you guys happy as well.

I am currently running a beta build of CraftBukkit and as soon as a recommended build is ready for all the plugins, I will update everything.

There are scheduled events that will snapshot the world data, as well as making backups. So keep that in mind if you witness some minor lag.

Just a fair warning, I think there's a daily scheduled power down time of 4am EST to allow for a full, safe backup. Ill be paying attention for the next few days on that, just to be sure its doing it correctly and without error.

Re: Inadvertent update

Yeah it may have been GameeServers, McMyAdmin is really really good, their costumer support is excellent.
They're a great host.

Re: Inadvertent update

So far, they're OK in my books. They are very neat and organized. And all the work is done thru McMyAdmin rather than going thru the whole CS page like I had to do with Velocity.

Re: Inadvertent update

It's easier to use FTP to adjust plugins, if you have that set up.

Re: Inadvertent update

And that's the best part Hawk. I have that too. Which is great! It'll allow me to either finetune the plugins myself, or the console can do it for me. It's great.

So glad I moved to these guys. Much more reliable, and much better backend software/support
