i got the 840 for $99 werf
besides in benchmark, the 850 shows close to no difference at a consumer level; only when you push it to its limit will it exhibit 10% performance gains compaed to the 840

nah i've seen people who wrote more than 100 TB of data and its still working well

Normal circumstances you wont notice any difference, however under strenuous task the 850 outperforms 840.
