As you all know (or may not know), it's breast cancer awareness month and for my part of raising awarenss and celebrating it, I'd like to educate you all on how you can prevent from getting breast cancer AND detect early ages of breast cancer in order to be protected. Notice how I said all? Yes, men can get breast cancer too, just not as much as women. But yes, breast cancer awareness is important for me as it took the life of one of my beloved and I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to others. Now, time for some education!!!
To prevent yourself from getting breast cancer, make sure to avoid these things:
1. Limit alcohol
2. Don't smoke
3. Control your weight
4. Be physically active
5. Breast feeding
6. Limit dose and duration of hormone therapy
7. Avoid exposure to radiation and environmental pollution
To detect early stages of breast cancer:
Swelling of all or part of a breast (even if no distinct lump is felt)
Skin irritation or dimpling (sometimes looking like an orange peel)
Breast or nipple pain
Nipple retraction (turning inward)
Redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
Nipple discharge (other than breast milk)
STAY SAFE EVERYONE!
