Nah it doesn't and it shouldn't since they are in separate partitions which do not interfere with the other plus mac doesn't really require awesome specs to run smoothly. Though I had to remove one ram slot from my pc since I had a really weird and difficult to identify error which could only be fix if you had 4 gb of ram as a maximum. But I really don't notice the difference between the 6gb I used to have and the 4 actual ones.

Not sure how to actually install a 64 bit version of mac since I am pretty sure there is only one available but I don't really mind much since I use it only for editing and its amazing :O
You'll want to reconsider the 64 bit version as you can never have too much ram for editing.
On a side note, professional editors suggest having a minimum of 8 gb of ram
