Are we under an alien invasion? I remember hearing about a panic getting set off when they were testing radio alerts one time and everyone thought there actually was an alien invasion.

No no no no no no. There was a radio program about an alien invasion and people tuning in thought that the program was actually news. This was before TV, so naturally people were stoopid.
