If the salt crystalizes enough, it could cause damage to the blood vessels and easily aid in the formation of a blood clott.

That's the trouble, I don't know if it's a good idea to put him on an anticoagulant like Warfarin because we don't know just how much damage they will cause, it all depends on how much the salt crystalizes. It makes preventative measures impossible against clotting. The only possible cure I can concieve is to replace his blood altogether, but a procedure like that just isn't feasible. I'm afraid I can't concieve of any way to save the mans life. The salt has effected him in ways that are irreversible. The best we can hope for is to watch to see how much of the salt crystalizes, watch for damage to the blood vessels leading the formation of clotts and if push comes to shove place him on a set of blood thinners accordingly.

I'm sorry. As your family I'm sure you would have hoped for better news, but his odds of long term survival are... less than optimal.
