It greatly depends on your view on religion and life in general. from an evolutionary viewpoint, it is to reproduce and raise offspring that will benefit humanity as a whole. From a Christian perspective, it is to live a good life, applying the Christian principles in your life to the best of your ability. It could also be argued that there is a third perspective, the humanistic one, which is centered around living a life that is 'good', but also without regrets.
