This is a tough one cause they were both really were my childhood I started out with Mario games and then Sonic games shortly after

But if I had to pick between characters? Sonic But games? Mario tbh

Notable Games: Mario Kart(anyone really), Super Smash Bros, Mario & Sonic at Olympics, Sonic Unleashed, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros & probably Sonic Lost World(it's kinda bit underrated imo but it's still a good sonic game)

Sonic Unleashed even till now will always be the best Sonic game imo. Released years ago in old gen consoles and it lowkey looks like its made like last month coz of how good it looks. 

It had long levels, with a lot of variety of routes you can take and the werehog feature was pretty interesting, hard asf tho. Now that I think of Sonic Forces, that game is so shit compared to it
