RE: Laptop decisions

The Hp also has a dedicated graphics card, so gaming might be more pleasurable on that machine compared to the dell. (AMD Radeon 530 vs NVIDIA GeForce 940MX)

Also while one is an i7 laptop the i7 is of the seventh generation while the i5 is of the 8th, benchmarks also show that the i5 is quite faster than the i7. Feel free to take a look at this link if you'd like to see the performance difference yourself: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Int...4vsm338266

The Dell laptop also has a bigger screen if this matters to you, 15.6" vs 17.3 (both resolutions are the same)

I think if you plan on doing light gaming/ no gaming on the laptop but you wanna be able to quickly interchange between apps and want a big screen to watch some nice "youtube" go with the Dell, however, if you plan on doing a little bit more gaming the dedicated graphics card in the HP could give you a better experience.
