So as some of you know SmG started out in Halo. Specifically Halo 2 and Halo CE. We currently host servers in both games still and have for many years. But even I know when it is time to throw in the towel. The dedicated server is alot of work, money, and time. As an admin of SmG I have decided to make the decision to shut down our Halo game servers at the end of this month. (TO BE CLEAR NOT THE DISCORD SERVER). I have came to the realization that hosting servers in old games is not helping our community and if it is then only by a little. As sad as it is shutting down our Halo Servers that made SmG what it is today I have to face the facts.

In 2018 dedicated game servers are becoming less and less important. Most new games don't even have them. 

So what does this mean for server managers? The rank has been removed and all server managers have been moved to Support.

What does this mean for the future of SmG will this affect the community? I see little impact. Honestly if I didn't make this post many of you wouldn't even know.

The upside to all of this is a new color has freed up for a possible new rank that everyone obviously is wanting. We also have more time and resources to devote to other areas of SmG.

Overall this was inevitable I can say I am finally ready to let go of the old halo servers. Out with the old in with the new!
