Halo Reach Weapons

The Rocket Launcher remains pretty much unchanged, still the uber powerful weapon rush weapon that it is. Combined with the jetpack, it's even more deadly than ever before. Damage: Uber

The sword continues its reign of dominance in Halo Reach. The one change is that now it can be parried by a melee'ing foe, though it still leaves you at an advantage after the parry as your opponent is stunned as long as you are. Damage: Insta-kill

The good old shotgun returns in Halo Reach and is as good as ever. It's still a completely dominant close range weapon. Damage: High
Halo Reach Sniper
[Image: halo-reach-sniper.png] The sniper rifle is a bit weaker than in previous Halo games since the newly added reticule bloom makes double no scopes more difficult, but it's still as strong as ever at range. Bloom: Moderate

The plasma launcher has been toned down a bit since the beta, mainly in its homing ability, however it is still a very strong weapon. You can think of it as the Covenant's equivalent to the grenade launcher, only much better. Homing: Moderate

The Focus Rifle will remind people of the Sentinel Beam, but rest assured this time around it is a power weapon, at least against Spartans. It will take down Spartans fast and the animation of getting hit by it blocks your view and makes it difficult to shoot back. It is strong against shields and weak against bodies, which makes it weaker against Elites. Shield Damage: High

The Needler has been beefed up considerably this year. In a heads up mid-range battle with the DMR or Needle Rifle it will win unless your opponent lands all of their shots and a headshot. One thing many people don't realize is that keeping the reticle on your target after firing causes the needles to track better, making it very deadly. Zoom: No

The Gravity Hammer seems to be the same as ever. Still overpowered up close by the Sword or shotgun due to its horrible range, but a good close range weapon when those aren't an option. Damage: High

Bungie has actually sprinkled turrets around a few of the multiplayer maps in Halo Reach, and they're suprisingly under used, but actually very strong.
Halo Reach Needle Rifle
[Image: halo-reach-needle-rifle.png] The Needle Rifle is the Covenant version of the DMR, and a replacement for the Carbine Rifle. It does less damage than the DMR, but fires faster and has a slightly smaller bloom. I personally prefer it to the DMR. Zoom: Yes

The DMR is the replacement for the Battle Rifle. It replaces the BRs 3-shot burst with a single shot, but it does high damage (instant kill on headshot with no shields) and has very high accuracy. Zoom: Yes

Halo Reach Spartan Laser

Halo Reach Magnum
[Image: halo-reach-magnum.png] The Magnum is as close to the Halo 1 pistol as we've been in quite some time. It has a long range and zoom, but the bloom on it is massive, leaving the DMR and Needle Rifle as the superior long range weapons. Zoom: Yes

Halo Reach Grenade Launcher
The Halo Reach grenade launcher functions like none in any other game. Hold the button down when you fire, and the grenade will explode when you release. The splash damage is weak though, much less than an actual grenade, and you often need a direct hit to kill someone. Splash Damange: Weak

The plasma repeater fires is a sort of plasma machine gun, which is very effective against shields but weak against unshielded foes. This makes it decent against Spartans, but very weak against elites. Shield Damage: High

Halo Reach Energy Pistol

Now, however, it does a little bit more damage to the body to the point where you may be able to get away with not even switching weapons after your charge shot. Homing: Moderate

The concussion rifle is similar to the Brute Shot in Halo 3, but is meant more as a support weapon this time around. The knock the target back and the gun also does splash damage and will flip warthogs. It is great if you're trying to get assists. Damage: Low
