Overwatch: Past vs Present

I have recently started to like Overwatch again, to a point where anything I play is this game. Due to this recent liking of mine I was wondering:-

Was Overwatch good before or it has improved in the 2 years of its making? Considering the recent updates and the commend system plus the new characters, I think this is Overwatch v2.0. What do you think?
