My GTX 970 video card is giving me troubles, keeps blanking out and sometimes even locks up my computer so I am looking at replacing it with something that has the same performance or maybe even better performance but it needs to be reasonably priced as I am now a pensioner.

Any suggestions would be welcomed as I haven't looked at video cards for a while and there is a shit load of them out there at the moment.

I recently replaced it with an RTX 2070. My GTX970 also derped out. Also by locking out your comp did you mean like screen freezes and forced restart? Because I had that too.
