Back in world war two, the third reich developed a gun capable of firing 43k yards (and or 39k meters). It was basically super artillery and it was used by the werhmacht (marines) and they used it to destroy the maginot line (frances super fort protecting their border with germany but not extending it all the way to the Belgian border)
