1. Participate in the ingame events such as the recent Project event. That way you can stack up tokens and buy an Orb which gives you quite a lot of skins.

2. Simply leveling up and gaining champion capsules. Capsules give you better chances of good skins and champions the higher level you are. Once you reach level 30, you get a glorious champion capsule that can give you up to 3 skins. Level 50 gives you another capsule upgrade with better loot than the previous ones.

3. There are websites and applications that reward you their currency to buy your skin of choice. One of the best one being Quarterback. You simply do their challenges and it'll stack up the currency to buy your skin.

4. Getting skins for free is completely random. Going after one skin is extremely difficult unless you are lucky. Just wait for the skin to be on sale and buy the cheapest riot points pack for example $5.

5. Try to get S tier chests by being the best in your match. Just use a champion you're confident with. Chests can give out good skins too.
