Then again u can close ur dms after ur done dming them. And an extra role and channel like that sound kinda uselesss imho. Good creativity at least 

that means i would have to keep my dm's closed for all servers.
that's my point, i want to be able to have people ask before they dm me in the server before they do.
plenty of servers have done this, and it's not as much of a pain as you would think it is, it's really a matter of habit.

Since you want to still keep your dms open, what would happen to people who would just dm you and skip the process of asking you and waiting for you to respond?

most servers who have done this, have it as a rule and you can report it if they dm u without consent
