I have a couple friends that went to RIT and transferred to Clemson and other schools. If you're planning on transferring, as long as you keep your grades up you should be fine wherever you choose to go. I don't really know anything about universities outside of SC/NC (my tuition is only 2800 with my scholarships :D).
