The point being made here is correct, if you restrict yourself to the exact definition of the term.
People do misuse the words trying to mean a different thing.
The term "lag" here only refers to the latency between the server and the client. Hence higher ping obviously means a high amount of lag (due to increased milliseconds)


However if your using this as justification that you don't teleport every-where all the time cause of your relatively "low" ping. That's totally wrong.
Even with a low ping if you have a high rate of packet loss, which would lead to the server skiping those packets which it didn't receive and teleport you to your next known location, where it received packets from you. Out here again increased ping means there is more distance for the packet to travel, and increased chances of "data loss" . But if your net is stable the likely hood of packet loss is very low.
Warp is also very apparent when someone's ping fluctuates.

Point agreed on- Higher Ping=More latency.
