What you are saying is true but they were allies at the time. What I am trying to say is don't give your best weapons (Storm) to potential enemies.
I'm also fairly sure that the Brits did not give their best weapons to the indians (eg cannons, latest muskets etc) but older weapons which were still better than what their rivals had.
Don't piss off old people.
The older we get the less "life in prison" is a deterrent.
