Minecraft seems more hands-on for my taste. I played Terraria once, a couple of years ago, and didn't really understand much of what was going on...it's also good to note that I kind of pirated the game as well and immediately deleted it after a couple of minutes. I was 13 at the time, so...yeah. Both are good games though.
Terraria beats minecraft for how much content it has. It's go a hell ton of items and weapons and the game has some interesting game events, which minecraft doesn't have. It's also more detailed since it actually has furnitures and decorations, something that minecraft doesn't have for some dumb reason.
