Why aren't they all called normal anime tho? It's not as if being gay is that different to warrant an entire genre. I feel like the categorisation of anime making anime involving same sex relations not being 'normal' shows a bit of a problem with anime as a whole. Like as much as I love Japan and I think it's a great place, racism and homophobia definitely shows through the diversity in anime, like you will literally never see a single black person in anime not even set in Japan (yes, I specifically said not in Japan because Japan doesn't have many black people with something like under 2% of its population being foreign at all). But yeah obviously the post isn't saying this intending to be homophobic, and it isn't homophobic, but I just wanted to waffle a bit about how much same sex relationships are fetishised in anime. Especially considering the results it has had in the My Hero Academia fandom (although that's a whole other problem).
