For the second time my new PC has suffered from sound loss. The volume is turned up to maximum and it is acting like it is muted. A reboot fixes it, but it is just annoying. Anything I can do?

Reset to sound defaults.

Try muting your sound. Then unmuting it. Also are your sound drivers up to date?

Drivers are there except they are not properly done...had the same prob happen to me when I got my laptop.

Do you have on-board audio? This is what happened before my integrated sound carked it altogether, and I had to go out and buy a sound card.
