Well the only country that can do something is US. No European country can pressure the Russia but the US. And I'll tell you something. I don't want the US to get involved in any military action. NATO itself can't do anything without the US.

Exactly, but the EU's hesitance is what inevitably will lead to the US heading NATO into ukraine when the sanctions fail.

This is a conflict about Russia not loosing it's sphere of influence to the EU in the slavic areas. Russia is not afraid of conflict with NATO because he's got nothing to loose, if he fails to win the conflict, he looses Ukranian influence. If he fights the conflict and wins, he keeps it. If he does nothing and allows the new government to abandon ties with russia and create alliances with their western neighbors, he also looses.

His obvious choice would be to ignore domestic and economic sanctions because they wont hold in the long run. That is why he is threatening now to seize American and European assets in both russia and ukraine if they enact sanctions. It's mere provocation, a conflict with the EU works out better for him in the long run.

In reality it's a Catch 22 for us, not Russia. If we militarily intervene in Ukraine we give Putin the excuse to invade the rest of the ukraine, but if we do nothing then A) we can loose political ties with the new Ukrainian government in the event they do survive a russian takeover, and B) just that, doing absolutely nothing would inevitably lead to Putin placing Yushchenko back into power, and Sanctions and other non-violent threats will be ignored and escalate the situation further towards war.

Half of Ukraine actually wants to be with Russia, in their little congress i think 38 said yes and only one said no, in addition 75% of that half voted to be with Russia. Either it's legit or Russian propaganda has been happening in Ukraine.

From what I understand, before the overthrow the Ukrainian government voted to keep ties with russia over joining the EU despite the fact that a majority of it's citizens wanted to side with europe. They overthrew their old president and parliment and Yanuckovych fled to Russia. Russia now makes the backlash from these events from the russo-ethnic citizens bigger than it really is as a guise to place Yanuckovych back into power so he can continue political ties with the Ukraine.

Of course Russia can't handle a large scale war, their economy hasn't improved or evolved since the 70's, and their shit healthcare and alchol abuse has their citizens with a average lifespan of just 60 years.

They can't afford it, but they will try to anyway because in Putin's eyes, ties with Ukraine are more important. Ukraine borders russia, and if ukraine joins the EU than he will have european influence right at his doorstep, and if tensions ever rise between the ukraine and russia, he knows that all of Europe (and most likely the US, Canada, and Australia through NATO and the UN) will be right there to kick his shit in. Essentially, he wants to fight a war to stop a potential and bigger one.

That is why the best course of action would be for NATO and the EU to stop russia right now rather than put it off until layer.

That's Crimea parliament which is not a legit. It was created by the pro-Russians to counter against Kiev Nationalists. Now the pro-Russian consists of Russians, Ukrainians that still want to be with Russia and disbanded security forces.
