I've just been thinking about how the idea of food and eating is so engrained in human sociology it's ridiculous. We use it as a catalyst for gathering- restaurants, barbeques, family dinner, that kind of thing. We build entire industries and devote such a massive amount to "beautifying" the concept of food- to the point where people won't eat something unless they find it enjoyable.

There's another concept, what's enjoyable about something that tastes good? I mean I get it from a biological standpoint- human beings for instance have a tendency towards "sweet" foods because it was more evolutionarily advantageous for humans to have a preference for fruit, since it provided simple sugars that the body digested and gained energy from quickly.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't understand why it has become a staple of human condition in the way it has. I mean, I don't know about you guys, but when I eat I often think about what exactly eating is. It's really sort of disgusting. You are just shoving biological mass into a front facing orifice (the same one you use to breath and speak to people), where you shred it into small pieces with calcified organs stuck inside you flesh. Then you mix it with your secreted saliva which contains enzymes that prepare it to be broken down by acids and absorbed into the lining of several different sized flesh bags filled with more bacteria than ray has money. What's left is subsequently condensed into disposable fecal matter which is then expelled by contractions of the muscles through a stretchable tube and out an orifice on the other side, tucked away between two soccer-ball sized lumps of deposited fat on your posterior.

The entire process is fucking gross.

It just seems pretty stupidly designed to me. The whole human body is pretty retarded tbh.

Like why the fuck would you make legs with the shin bone right under the surface of the skin? That's pretty retarded seeing how fragile human bones are and how crucial the shin is to the function of a leg. It's like designing a bomb shelter so that the main pillar of support is right at the damn entrance.

What about the fact that a mans nuts are in such a vulnerable place? Why do we breath and eat out of the same cavity? Why would you make the nerves in the epidermis as sensitive as they are? The point is to alert you to potential dangers in the ecosystem, not to kick your ass for being near such a danger. Why would you even have two different genders when you could have one single super gender? Why wouldn't you make them phototrophs or chemoautotrophs instead of this asinine consumption bullshit where they have to destroy living organisms just to survive.

If there is such a thing as God, he's honestly pretty shit at making people. -2/10 even I could do a better job than this.
