So according to Aaron Greenberg, "The Future is without console generation." The new project, Project Scorpio will be the end to that generation. It also been Stated that there will be no game exclusives to the Xbox Scorpio.

During E3 2016 it was said that Halo 5: Guardians Forge and Custom Games will come to Windows 10 for FREE.

It is also been said that all future exclusive games for the Xbox One will also be on Windows 10. That has been proven correctly due to Halo Wars 2 release on both Xbox One and Windows 10.

VR is another factor to why Microsoft is ending consoles. They believe that Consoles are not meant for VR. So they have been focusing more away from Console specs for the Scorpio.

So in the end Microsoft is no longer seeing consoles in the future due to all market factors and new released technology such as the VR.

They are also gonna beat their competitors such as Sony and Nintendo because they don't have a strong market for software and PC hardware. So in the end this is a good move for Microsoft.

Consoles promote a disbanded community and capitalism by not having free/public/open dedicated server hosting by the community. Any game with dedicated servers that can be hosted by the community always has a stronger community. I eventually think consoles will become obsolete sooner or later. Well technically they are but we still buy them O_O

I can see there always being a demand for consoles, and while there's a demand and people willing to pay, Microsoft is going to take their money.

The only reason why people buy consoles is they want to maintain their couch experience. But PC is allowing more open experience for both desk/chair and couch. That is what the Xbox Scorpio pretty much is. It is a pre-built gaming PC that can be used for both chair/desk and Couch. It also costs the same as a normal console. People buy consoles because they don't want to buy expensive PC's and pay more for upgrades.

Exactly. 

If Microsoft is really gonna ditch consoles. I really want to see if they will compete with Steam or partner with them for their store. Them competing with Steam would not work. Steam has already taken the PC Gaming market. But if they partner with Steam, we might see some Xbox Exclusives on the Steam Store. Though they might not let those game be compatible with the Steam OS. That would literally be suicide for Windows 10.

With the specs rumored, i doubt itll cost the same as previous consoles. Im guessing it will be around the same as the release price for the ps3, 500-700 depending on configuration.
