[Claymanation]

Hello all, SmG Claymanation here. 
I was wondering if (with the admins' permission) we could put together a Halo: 2 / Halo: CE team to represent SmG in tournaments with other clans, or just for the fun of it.

Halo: CE and Halo: 2 are both free and easy to download on PC, which is where we would harbor the team. These are games from the early 2000s, so even a potato computer could run it. 
With it being free and easy to run, I feel we could get a decent player size to represent us as a clan.

On both games we do as a clan have dedicated servers (which is how I learned of this clan) so we could potentially have closed practice / tryouts in a clan dedicated server. 
I do not know who is in charge of the servers however, so that may be wary.

I myself have an extensive background with Halo, being a former pro and ranked nationally in Halo: Reach, while also being a forge builder for "Green's Machines" directed by Ready Up Live.
If we were to attempt to form a complete team, I would be more than happy to lead the project in full, taking any responsibilities associated with the team in general.

We could potentially have both  Varsity and JV teams. Depending on the outcome of the tryout phase, we could have anywhere from 3x3 teams to 8x8 teams.

Tryout phase?
Yes, we would hold tryouts at a specific time to determine Varsity/JV status. Are you good enough to represent SmG?
The tryouts could be conducted and judged by myself, admins, or anybody else looking to help with the project. 
The tryouts could be held in classic 1v1, 3v3, 5v5, then 8v8 fashion to examine the skill of the players.


Prizes/winnings
With tournaments and competitions do come prize money sums. If we won these, these could fund the SmG clan as a whole as 'donations', in a way.

My honest opinion is that you're 10 years too late. Apart from you, I don't think there are many other consistent H2V players. A lot may play it casually, but it's no longer anyone's main game. Also before we let you do anything, please be a full member thanks.

So here's the thing Clay (can I even call you that xD), I am in charge of the servers and I am myself trying to figure out a way so I can have password protected servers and due to the really early stage of the Cartographer project, the servers are buggy.

Going for Halo CE, your idea is great and it has been done many times in our community (we are not a clan anymore). I will discuss this topic with the admins and I will definitely let you know what will happen.

Its definitely going to be difficult for you to do this... especially since most people have moved onto other games.
Just try your best to see how many people you can get :/ (most people are indeed casual)

As mentioned above, this has been tried numerous times by myself and a lot of others, and has failed each time. Most individuals moved into different games that was the main reason for the failure. But yeah, try your best and maybe this time it'll work, and if it does, I might even join for some Halo CE action :)

Yes, I do understand where you guys are coming from and those all are valid points.
People have moved on, but it is a niche that some people may enjoy.
About all the players are casual now, but I may have come across the wrong way with the 'team' aspect.
It doesn't have to be like a CS team, for example. It can just be a group of players that enjoy the game as well. That's what would most likely work in the grand scheme of things.

H2V is dead in itself, but with the Project Cartographer expansion it 100% has led to a resurgence in the community.

Maybe instead of a 'team' it could just be a 'group' or elsewise.

Maybe also we could potentially set up a tournament just for fun?
