I mean, it's the best. But check for AMD builds too.

RE: Build help

mobo is bad for OC, get this one instead
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboard-B...3a5d90f6a9
you would also be better off getting 2400 mhz ram as ryzen doesnt play nicely with higher clocked ram speeds

i7-5820k @ 4.7 ghz, Asus X99 sabertooth TUF, Kingston DDR4-3200 16 GB
Corsair H110i GT AIO, Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB x 2, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid
Asus ROG Swift PG279Q 1440p/165hz, Corsair AX760w, Corsair Obsidian 750D

STOP right there.

He's most likely better off with a Asus Prime B350 Plus Mainboard. Go to http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Sock...170704.pdf and scroll down. "Support Speed* with Ryzen CPU" should say DOCP3200 and you're good to go. Remember this is for ASUS Prime B350 Plus

Depending on your Mainboard you'll need optimized memory. I recommend 2x 8GB G Skill Trident Z RGB 3200 with 14-14-34 timings. Dual Channel lets Ryzen have more performance. 3200 is fast memory and CL14-14-34 is super LOW latency and Ryzen benefits from that.

Since you get a B350 you should get G Skill FlareX's. They are slower than the Trident Z RGB but they will 99% work on their stock frequency.

Also, crack your windows and save the 100 pound ;)

Also that monitor is garbage. Trust me. Unless you have an AMD GPU. Buy only if under 200 Pound or buy used somewhere online! They sell cheap.

RE: Build help

Assuming he's a novice, I doubt he'll be able to configure his ram settings in the event XMP doesnt load.
Honestly you shouldnt even be spending more on higher mhz ram where in real life performance only nets a 5-10 fps and isnt worth the price premium.
You would be better off spending that extra cash on other components such as the gpu, cpu, ssd etc

Ryzen flexes it's muscles a high speed RAM with low latency. AND Ryzen needs DualChannel (DC). The jump from DDR4-2400 SC and G Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 14-14-34 is CRAZY.

RE: Build help

5-10 fps isnt "crazy" by any standard and at most 5-10%. He would be better off spending the money on a 1080 Ti that would net him a 25-30% gain than getting faster ram for the same amount of money.
Games are ALWAYS going to be gpu bottlenecked regardless so the only logical suggestion for upgrading ram is for those that already have the fastest gpu available.
