My neighbors were both huge anime fans, one of them still is and she makes cosplays (and is really good at it and even makes a bit of money from it) and they introduced me and my sister to Naruto, Soul Eater, FMA, and Gurren Lagann. My sister lost interest in anime, but still finished Naruto (up to the Pain arc) but I never really stopped, since I kept finding new ones and it was how I made a few of my closest friends
