For sure you should give star wars Knights of the old republic a try.
They are a semi-turn based combat star wars game with an incredible plot. Played the crap out of them in my original Xbox days.

Its nice being a semi-turn based because you can pause mid combat and queue up different abilities based on the circumstances presented. You can either go fast and never pause and let combat do it's thing (and lose sometimes since it's dice rolls that determine if you hit or miss) or you can really get down and min max to be as efficient as possible. Super cool gameplay.

Plus a good chunk of the game is politics and your relationship with other characters. So it's not all just blasting away enemy scum. :D
