How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
Publicly People would have to recognize them as well as the media I think.

I don't think it has to do with importance, more so the intent of the kill, every person assassinated was murdered, but not every murder is an assassination. Assassinations are thought out, carefully planned, premeditated murders, usually but no need be of an important person. But when you think of an important person, they are generally harder to kill, hence why they are typically assassinated.

It depends on how far a person is willing to go I believe. It also depends how much that person pissed off the assassinator. If they think that it'll be easy to get away with, they might just plan a way to murder. Assassination is more exact and harder to do so I guess it really depends on the efforts of that person.
