Will there be a diamond and pearl remake, absolutely. They've hinted at it way too much (empoleon in pokken tournament, a lack of the gen 4 games on a shelf during a direct, it being the next in the normal line of pokemon games; new, remake, new, remake, etc)

And they're moving to the switch and what could be better than showing the switch's power by remaking a ds game.
