The egg would come first based on evolution.... this is why.

Two animals similar to chickens would breed. They would keep breeding over thousands of years. Each time breading new genus would be introduced into the offspring (maybe from the environment, maybe genetic mutation, maybe some drug, or radiation) making for a slightly different chicken.


Until eventually you have the chicken that you know today.

Sooner or later that chicken will change due to evolution as well.
