Tuff question. Really it depends on what you want more. They're both vastly different games so comparing them won't be easy.
Roblox is focused on creativity, much like Minecraft. But with roblox you're given the coding and model tools of an actual game development kit (although really limited). Roblox uses the coding language known as Lua, which gives roblox the slight edge due to the vast amounts of utility it has compared to Minecraft. As well as making your own games, you can also play other people's games to get an idea or maybe just for fun. Whether you're creative enough to make a game or you just want a fun time, then roblox is for you.
Minecraft on the other hand, is more difficult to understand. Minecraft is mainly a survival game at heart, instead of roblox's more creative theme to it. Minecraft itself is coded using Java, but the ingame coding has it's own language (correct me if I'm wrong on this). If you want a game that allows you to survive with friends at the downfall of not having as much creative freedom as roblox, then Minecraft would be for you.
Another topic to compare would be mods. Roblox doesn't have "mods" per say, since it's more of a platform than an actual game. You can add custom scripts to your game if you wanted but it would only affect whatever game has that script in it. Minecraft on the other hand, is much more mod-friendly since it's all one big massive game. Adding cars or planes to a world in Minecraft is much easier compared to roblox, which is almost impossible unless it's your own game.
To sum it up, Roblox is for those who want more creative freedom and an interest in making their own games while Minecraft is more of a relaxed game you sit back for a few hours and have fun in. So it all really depends on what you like more.
(And for everyone who calls roblox a Minecraft clone, roblox came first.)
