Nobody knows, that’s why you need to enjoy your life while you can. It all depends on what you want to believe. Like religion, nobody knows so they go with what they believe. For me, my guess would be that our souls do go to new bodies, and the ghosts are just the souls waiting for a new body. Think of it like this, you know how people say you see a bright light from a distance when you are near death? What if that’s the light from a hospital room, and you are a baby being born.

i like to think that when you die, you have like a brief period of time where you can see all of your friends and family, then move on to your next life in a new body. But death is a hard subject to talk about, because no one knows what's on the other side, and it's the only thing in the universe that is guaranteed.
