    Depends on what you're actually doing in IT, you could just be tech support and then you wouldn't need to know anything hard but if you have to handle things like programming, then you need to know math and code.

    Research the field by reading books and watching videos. I guess persistence and patience is required to master anything. Sorry for the vague advice.
