This can be hard to answer depending on your situation. I personally prefer knowledge. There have been many times (especially during college) where I have been so freaking poor and the thing that has kept me going is my thirst for knowledge. Even free knowledge is good. My brother and I spent 8months with an aboriginal community in northern Queensland, not one of those Aboriginal "towns" but proper bush folk and the things I learned brought me so much joy. I have the most amazing green thumb and fair decent knowledge of aussie bush tucker because of it and thats just one big experience. Life has sooo many.
Sure, I could blow money on a bunch of material things and I tend to do that with the income I make at work, but man, knowledge. I'm 36 and STILL take part time classes on occasion to feed my brain. I feel like a stagnant pond if I don't. And I need that first hand experience to get anything out of it.
Im not saying choosing money is bad, I think no matter what it's going to come down to just personal preference and I dont think anyone can really be wrong in their justifications for their choice.
