I have seen a lot of people in chat saying "scout is useless" or "I didn't know you wanted to be useless" when people obtain the role scout. 
so I wanna hear your guys, what do you think of the role scout?

Well, back in my days : that would be back in January. I obtained my scout. Back there it was harder to get, you needed 10 ref, 100 post and 25 discord invites.
I got it in a month, only because I needed to wait til I been there for a month. Maybe I should tell that at that time, scouts could mute people in vc. I was very proud of this role, not because I got ekstra power, but because I worked for it, and not that many people had it. 

So for now, when scout cant mute and a lot of people have scout, what do I think of it? well I think its sad that its still a bit to easy to get, but Im still happy and proud of being it! I dont think its useless. It shows that you are interested in the community and want to help it grow. Of course im not saying that you dont want to do that without scout.

Tbh Scout isn't good rn... Most people spam to get that role. Like a guy hasn't been in smg for a second and he'll get raided by these Spammers in dms. Plus, the added advantage of getting scout only means rn a future chance at staff and +4 rep so that isn't all that much of a difference. Spammers has overtaken scouts so... It really is useless for now.

@SmG Batman Well I happen to have a alt that I rejoin with to report bots who send invites, and I haven't had anybody ask me in dm like a spam?

@SmG Batman sorry I had a mistake in the comment, I meant to say I have a alt I rejoin with, and my alt havent been spammed by any members. (I only use a alt to report bits spamming invites)

Scout is now doing what it was always meant to be as it was originally designed.
Scout was never meant to have extra permissions over members but was meant only to help new members join.
It was also intended to display to staff those members that would work for a staff role and be responsible in that role.

The extra permissions granted to Scouts for a while were never meant to be permanent but only a stop gap measure until enough staff could be promoted to regulate Discord.

@SmG Nukem I think it was a good decision to remove the permission to mute. Tho I still think its to easy to get.

I mean, to me scout is a role obtained through dedication to SmG. Tbh obtaining scout role means you have worked hard on forums and in SmG. All should feel proud of getting this role

I generally think it's an achievement and it just shows that you care for the server and support it. The mute command wasn't needed in my opinion. But at least when you say that you care for the community, your role proves it. So it isn't useless.
