I have a problem. When i turn on my computer the monitor screen stays blank and the power button starts blinking. the button is blue and blinks non stop. Is this the monitor or the video card?

Thats not a problem with either of ur hardware. I had the same problem. In my case, there was a problem with the power supply i.e. the voltage fluctuates.

Try switching off and on the power(socket) and then turn the cpu on.... it worked in my case.

Beware u may have to do it quite a few times though.

An easier solution is to connect the computer to a UPS... which stabilises power.

Some monitors have blinking lights when they're in stand by, takes a small amount of electricity. Push the power button on your monitor it should go away, if it bothers you, put a bit of tape over the light.

There is nothing wrong with anything, just something a few monitors have, there may be a setting in there to disable the "stand by light", or something along those lines.
You could email the manufacturer of your monitor about it, they may be able to help you, maybe a google search?

some say its the video card and some say its the monitor thats all i got. i will test it out for the week c how it works

ok if i left it on for a bit and the video came back and it asked me if i wanted to restore the pc to a time when it worked better and i did. so far so good.
